“See & Hear” Nature Challenge #2

Last week, we featured Jane Kirkland’s first challenge on Red-Winged Black Birds.

Did you and your kids spot any Red-Winged Black Birds?

This week, Jane challenges us to go hunt for April flowers. OK, it’s more see than hear…but still. ;-)

As an April baby I may be a wee bit biased, but I can’t think of a more beautiful time of year to get out and explore nature!

As for the rain — make like Gene Kelly and sing & dance in it! Remember, a PLAYFUL spirit is one of the greatest gifts you can model for a child.

I would love to hear what’s in bloom in your neck of the woods. :-)

Not sure? Check out eNature’s wildflower and tree online field guides. They’re free — and you can search by your zip code!

Now, off you go.

Frolic Friday: Terrific Trees Edition

“Trees are your best antiques.”

Happy Frolic Friday! It’s time to put on your sneakers or hiking boots, and get out there and enjoy some much-needed time in nature. This weekend, make sure to make time away from chores and errands to play and recharge your batteries.

Why not…

As always, it doesn’t matter what you do, just get outside and play this weekend. Mother Nature is waiting…

Now if you will excuse me, I am off to find the world’s most perfect maple leaf.
