Spring Awakening…

Blushing Pink

And Spring arose on the garden fair,

Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;

And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast

rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

~Percy Bysshe Shelley, “The Sensitive Plant”

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Shake off the winter blues and embrace the unparalleled color and light of spring. Let it warm you inside and out, and free you to be the you that perhaps winter has let you forget.

Unplug and PLAY. Jump for joy, and pass it on. Welcome spring with all your might.

Sometimes, you just have to kick off your shoes and go look for it, even if there is still a nip in the air. Ask spring to dance.

PS: Yes, I know it’s still officially a few days away, but let me have this one!

Mystery Critter #64

Farl-e

The days are getting longer and warmer here in the US. Spring is on its way, and with it, all the wonders that Mother Nature has to offer. Make time to get outside and welcome spring with the children in your world.

OK, time to play Mystery Critter.  Put on your thinking caps and let’s get to it! And remember — no cheating. ;-)

CRITTER CLUES:

  • You can find me in woodlands, neighborhoods and farmlands
  • People have been trying to attract me to their yards in the US since pre-settlement times
  • I am the largest of my species
  • I tend to live in colonies

So, what am I?

Make your guess then go to eNature for the answer and more interesting facts.

Did you get it right?

If not, no worries. You will have another chance soon!

Remember, when looking for wildlife, keep your eyes and ears open! What critters can you spot in your neck of the woods? Be sure to tell us!

And don’t forget! Join the Wildobs community and share your wild adventures with the world.

Video: The World Needs Play

“I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things… I play with leaves. I skip down the street and run against the wind.”

~ Leo Buscaglia

Thought I would take a minute so share this great video. Just a little more inspiration to get off the fast track and GO PLAY!
